Education

I have a B.A. in English from the University of Deusto, a Jesuit university in Spain similar to Creighton. I earned my Masters in Spanish from the University of Nebraska in 2012 and I am currently finishing my PhD in Spanish language and literatura at the University of Nebraska as well, where I teach all levels of Spanish, from beginners to advanced courses. I also have a minor and a graduate certificate in New Technologies applied to teaching.

Experience

I have been tutoring since I was an undergrad, mainly English, Spanish, and composition. After I started grad school, I have being tutoring students of language at every level and I have also been a conversation partner for students who were planning on studying abroad. I also have a small sister, so I have been always helping kids and teens to keep their grades up. I have access to a big database of materials that I have collected during my years of experience tutoring and I also have many Spanish textbooks, and quizzes and tests prepared by me. Besides, I can help students with placement tests for college or other tests such as the Speaking proficiency tests needed for becoming a Spanish teacher.

Hobbies

I love culture in general: literature, music, and cinema. Teaching these subjects and sharing my passion for them the reason why I am pursuing a PhD in the humanities. I love cooking a lot, and I love eating what I cook even more. That been said, I should add that I totally would be down for teaching Spanish cuisine cooking classes as well as Hispanic/Spanish culture. Spanish food is usually simple and comforting, a little lighter than Mexican perhaps, but very fulfilling as well!
