I am an active duty Submarine Officer in the US Navy, working at US Strategic Command on Offutt AFB. I have been working in the nuclear power field for most of the last 18 years. During my career, I have taught people from all walks of life many math and science concepts. Much of my career has involved helping high school graduates learn the difficult concepts of nuclear power, along with all the math, physics, and chemistry that goes along with those concepts. I firmly believe in finding the right way for each student to learn what works best for them. Not all people learn the same way. But I have also learned a number of ways to effectively convey difficult concepts and help students truly understand the underlying concepts - not just solve the specific problem at hand. This ensures they are better prepared overall, whether for test preparation or for learning more advanced topics.
