Experience
I completed a Bachelor's Degree in English from Creighton University and a Master's Degree in creative writing from Kingston University. I spent two years studying in the United Kingdom before coming back to Nebraska. While I was in London, I worked as a tutor in both group settings and with students on an individual level. My primary focus as a tutor centers around comparative literature, world literature college English, English grammar and syntax, literature, writing, reading, and ESL. However, I am also capable of tutoring students in world history, social studies, and world civilization. I also place an emphasis on showing students the importance of education and helping students master English. My goal as a tutor is to determine what my students' goals are. Once I can identify what they hope to get out of tutoring, I can adjust the way I teach to ensure that they reach their goals. Learning is something that should be fun, which is why I try to incorporate games and puzzles into my tutoring sessions as much as possible. Outside of academia, I enjoy swimming, yoga, writing, reading, and travelling. I have also written several short stories and I hope to eventually have my work published.
