I've been teaching and tutoring for four years, and I've found that I love teaching all types of writing. My other specialties include any area of the Humanities and standardized test preparation (SAT, GRE, TOEFL, and others) where I can lead students to success with proven exam-taking strategies.I received a master's in English from the University of Iowa. I then completed my BA at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI in 2010, majoring in Music and English with a History minor. My hometown is Omaha, Nebraska.My teaching experience includes leading English and Rhetoric courses at the Shandong Institute in China and the University of Iowa. While at Iowa, I also worked as a writing tutor at the university's writing centers. I believe in addressing the individual needs of each student and adjusting my teaching style to fit the person I am interacting with. This is much more effective than trying to cover all students with a single method, and this is exactly why I find tutoring so appealing.Besides tutoring, I am also inspired by discovering areas of the city and investigating local restaurants. In my free time, you might find me singing, writing, and sometimes watching bad reality TV.
