I am a graduate of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a B.S. in Computer Science. Additionally, I have a certificate in teaching English as a foreign language from Norwood English.Education provides students with the chance to choose the direction of their lives. Helping my students discover their own strengths and address any weaknesses so that they can realize their academic potential is something that I love. My philosophy of teaching is that anyone can become a better learner. Academic studies are like any other discipline in that improvement comes with guidance and practice.My tutoring experience includes teaching in a variety of capacities. At this time, I am teaching reading development skills to students with an age range between four and 64. Previously, I taught English as a second language to students at a Beijing, China primary school. I also tutored a Chinese professor and her daughter in English as a second language while she taught me Mandarin Chinese.I tutor students in a variety of subjects, including math, English, writing, reading, computer science, essay writing and editing, and study skills and organization.During my spare time, I enjoy a variety of activities, including singing and playing guitar, playing board games, rock climbing, spending time with my girlfriend and her dog, being involved at my church, and getting to know international students to help improve their experience here.
